The Gauteng Commandery has supported the Youth Centre for around 12 years and covers the costs of uniforms, school fees and holidays amongst other donations. The Centre provides security, love and discipline for around 33 children aged between six and seventeen years.
On Sunday 26 February had their first of their bi-annual visits to the Centre in Bronkhorstspruit. This year the visit was very special as we presented Betsy Jacobs with our silver Merit Medal in recognition of her outstanding services. Betsy, a retired policewoman, runs the centre along with a Board of Trustees.
Dame Tamra Capstick-Dale was invited as a special guest to see first-hand what makes the Loerie so distinctive.
The next visit to the Youth Centre will take place in August.
